About Us

The Boothbay Region Garden Club was organized in 1931, one of the first eight organized garden clubs in Maine, and federated in 1933 with The National Garden Clubs, Inc. as a non-profit group.

The mission of the club is to promote interest in the art and practice of gardening, horticultural education, and the beautification of the Boothbay Region.

We usually meet monthly on the second Wednesday of the month at the St.Columba's Episcopal Church, at 32 Emery Lane, Boothbay Harbor, Maine 04538. Please check our BRGC Calendar for specific time, program, site change and/or other information.

Our work covers public buildings with window boxes, wreaths and plants, and maintaining many public gardens in the area. Scholarships are provided for YMCA camperships and to college students who want to further their education in environmental studies. Activities for residents of the Gregory Wing at St. Andrews Village are provided by the Garden Therapy Committee. Additionally, club members have assisted students at our local schools with gardening projects.

The Boothbay Region Garden Club has fourteen currently active committees, some of which help the Officers to organize and run the Club and some of which focus on community involvement and service. Members are invited to join all of these committees, depending on their interest and experience.

We welcome new members!  Anyone who is interested in gardening is invited to join the Club. For more  information, read our Membership information here...or email us at gboothbayregion@gmail.com.
